
One Book, One Boulder County is a community-wide reading program presented by Boulder County's Libraries, planned to bring the community together through the reading of a single book. One Book, One Boulder was initiated by the Boulder Public Library and the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Major funding is provided by the Boulder Public Library Foundation, the Boulder Arts Commission, the CU Office of Community Affairs, and the Daily Camera. For this first county-wide community read, the book selected is Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam. Hickam will visit Boulder April 17th-18th as part of the celebration of his book.

Dinner to Welcome Homer Hickam to Boulder
Thursday, April 17, 6:30 p.m. at the Stadium Club on the CU campus
$35 includes buffet dinner, tip, taxes and near-by, on-campus parking.
A brief program with BVSD and CU students is followed by Mr. Hickam's talk and
book signing.

Limited parking is available on campus for $3 in Lot 380 or the Euclid Autopark. Otherwise, street parking in the vicinity is recommended.

CU-Boulder proudly presents a "Rocket Day" to go along with the book Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam. A full day of family fun!
Events on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus, presented by Fiske Planetarium and the Sommers-Balch Observatory and Science Discovery include:
- Noon - 4 p.m. - Rocket making classes (appropriate for families) and launches by Science Discovery - on the hour
- 5 p.m. - "October Sky" - free screening in the Fiske Planetarium
- 7:30 p.m. - Free live space music concert
- 8 p.m. - Telescope giveaway
- Sunset - 10 p.m. - Telescope observing at the Sommers-Bausch Observatory
